Debate today oct 2 2024

If vote eby- he will GIVE lands to indigenous To develop

We need TO REOPEN RIVERVIEW! We believe that everyone deserves to live a healthy & happy life. That's why we NEED riverview. To be built into health/resource campus for the homeless, addicted & mentally ill not the rich like eby/indigenous have planned for it. Eby will simply give indigenous riverview.

CTV news states “Riverview reopen not solve problem “

This couldn’t be further from the truth!

After the sept 2024 random stranger attacks ctv news in the following weeks after mayors and the public raged “ to reopen riverview” had an expose With penny daflis saying this was not the solution.  They didn't offer up any solution in the same breath tho. They stated it was in the courts which is true but since this series they did between sept 9-16 the public and mayors have gone silent on riverview. It is quite sad. Reimagine riverview is the one and only solution in British Columbia for this crisis- do we want to become like San Francisco?…..it affects everyone…….reimagined riverview offers a holistic approach to health and wellness, addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of one’s well-being.

Let’s get back onboard and fight for it to reopen- it’s vital to saving lives and communities.

Addiction is simply genetics not due to “ colonialism “

Addictions and mental illness are due to genetics quite simply speaking from the physical science end of things. Some mental illnesses are due to doing drugs. One can be predisposed to addictions like drinking alcohol or doing drugs and this can be rooted in some trauma but let’s face it we all have some trauma as most childhoods are not without it.

Problem with indigenous and I mean this quite simply is they like to blame everything on colonialism when in fact it is simply if I may offer this opinion that they are not letting go of the past and they have too much time And money on their hands and they have in their genetic pool addictions and mental illness. It is a fact that they fall victim to addictions as we all may and they go and have children and these kids either have drugs or alcohol in their systems when born leading to all sorts of problems ( and whites do too!) And /or they end up in foster care which can lead to much trauma. It is such an easy fix to dwell in addictions to numb the trauma and we can all do this.

I do believe over losing some of the indigenous culture ( whose fault I am unsure) that they have lost their way and can more easily fall victim. It is astounding that indigenous account for over 30% of the homeless and drug addicted. It is also astounding that about 60% are of european Descent too. We just don't See many coloured people like East Indian or Chinese down in DTES- there is a reason for this too, it’s because they have strong family bases that don’t give up on each other and they have faith. The Europeans for some reason don’t have solid families and I believe they may also be a culture where genetics play a strong role. It’s also not uncommon to see people who don’t believe in a higher power say God down there in DTES  as we need to have this strong faith and hope that he is in control and all is well and good in his hands. When people do find faith whether it be spiritual like indigenous culture or in God like Christianity it can lead to healing. I feel these are very much creative people too whom are over sensitive, often they can be artists/musicians who fall victims. I love the indigenous culture and what they stand for as well as the ingenuity of the Europeans and the creative spirit of these groups but we must see it as a cultural Problem from both ends vs. Just colonialism as the Europeans suffer more than the indigenous yet who are they blaming?…. Family and it’s strength is so very important in todays society and especially safe guarding children against turning their trauma or pain or risky behaviour into drugs or other addictions as this is a one way street to homelessness. Too much money and too much time on one’s hands can lead to this also, that is why it is important to work. I feel it is blame misplaced as do a lot of society that the indigenous place blame in white Europeans and the Christian church for their issues as the Europeans, true, have made plenty of mistakes in the past but who hasn’t and as cultures we have to let it go and learn from it rather than dwelling on it, like any issue in our lives.

It can be very insidious to Gain sympathy from society as we dwell in blame. It is never a single cultures fault for strife in this world , rather it is the clash of cultures and religion, we must all walk our own journeys and remain true to our belief systems. And lift one another up out of trauma which is what the church and Europeans and other cultures have been trying to do to those who have been wronged. The world is never perfect and neither is any one group or culture, all we can do is live the best way we know how with kindness and respect for one another and ask for forgiveness When we wrong each other and apologize but we may not have to pay the ultimate price of unending guilt, shame and giving up our lives for others nor money or land. Sympathy is very fair when placed well but not misplaced.

We all suffer on Earth due to Satan and his destructive ways and paths and I feel there is nothing more destructive than poisoning your body and this treasured vessel God has given us to care for. Just Always turn away from Satan and towards God and creating and I believe strongly that when the indigenous focus on what they can create and stop looking at the past this is when they can truly heal as well as Europeans, there is no place in this world for guilt or pointing fingers or misplaced hatred. Let’s all live and support one another in this destructive journey or addiction rooted in genetics like heart disease or cancer and try to come out of it as we turn to God for healing our trauma ( or spiritually in nature) so we do not fall victim to Satan and his temptations for easy fixes.

Love one and love ALL and most importantly learn to forgive and " let-go",  for in this we find true and lasting Healing. Focus on your inner world not the outer and learn to build it even as the world falls apart around you physically, for this is true spirituality.

Riverview is a sanctuary for all where healing can occur

Court case is in abeyance- likely given to indigenous

Jared Enns lawyer with cassels brock who is representing city of Vancouver ( not sure they have any business Or stake?) told us sept 19 2024 that the court case over riverview is in 'abeyance', which means no party is litigating it or making submissions and there is no trial date set ! (YIkes)  Jared would not tell us who represents the crown in this and tried denying us our right to intervene?!…..essentially David Eby( appointed not elected!) and Ken sim are giving the lands to the kwikwetlem and we all know what they did to ubc lands and Jericho and burrard bridge area-residential- they are also building  “ below market” housing for sale at Heather and between 33& 37 ave in Vancouver leasing the land and selling for 40% below market with a 60/40 split, which means you’ll never own the land you just bought as is 99 yr lease!….. we are in trouble people

we may never get riverview back for the Vulnerable And solve the problem of addiction and homelessness nor help these diseased and ill people with mental health issues- It's medical- they will be building housing now in all neighborhoods to house these people and they may never recover -this is a real problem! ....How many more people will die now?

speak up now or forever hold your peace , it’s time everyone speak up AND write the govt of bc and rage!!!

before it’s just too late

we still try ….. will you join us?

IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO LIFT US UP

The path to health is the path to FREEDOM

History of Riverview lands

Early 1900’s

Riverview Lands used to be approximately 500 acres located in Coquitlam in mid 1800’s. It was divided with 1/2 ( 250 acres) being developed and the other 250 acres which was privately owned by a family it was given to the mentally ill for a hospital.

it was given in late 1880’s or 1900 and buildings popped up every decade til is is what it is now. In around the 1970’s it was decided that institutional setting was not ethical anymore and that these patients Of about 5000 should be free to live in the community thus by 2000 due to activists and politicians it was shuttered and all patients kicked out by 2012 without proper supports. Then in 2012 bc housing took over and had several open houses to get feedback on reopening it, these open houses were held til about 2015, we had participated in these talks and spoke. The indigenous at the time eased their way into the conversation saying they wanted to be a part of it, now it is in the crowns hands and kwikwetlem First Nations want claim to it all to develop it and it’s been tied up in courts since 2016. It simply does not belong to them bc it was privately owned land for centuries and belongs to the mentally ill. So will be interesting to see what happens in the courts, presently the ndp is busy giving them all of bc and intends on giving this parcel to them too. It’s rather sad and frightening for bc And it’s vulnerable.

Mental Health Support & how mental health affects us all

We understand that mental health is just as important as physical health. That's why Riverview offered a range of mental health services, including counselling and therapy, to help patients achieve optimal well-being. There was activities to do , farming, training, doctors, the therapeutic lands, their own fire hall etc.

MENTAL HEALTH AFFECTS US ALL AS

a whole Community because we are losing valuable lives every day. Not just by the odd stranger attack but by overdoses and suicides by the thousands. We ALL know someone who suffers and is in silent pain. We need to help these people now as we have practiced "too little too late" all too often in the past, now is time to revamp riverview into a health campus like UBC with housing for the poor, homeless and sick and with research and health centres to help the addicted get treatment and create good habits. NOW IS THE TIME.          Mental health and addiction are MEDICAL DISEASES and should get the JUST medical attention of so.

Stay tuned for monthly blogs on solutions and updates. If you like to donate to the cause as we will be fighting for it legally in court as well as campaigning, please feel free to reach out with your email and we will write you back and connect. We can even put your business logo on this website in support of renewed mental health solutions. Remember it'll saves lives of loved ones and help prevent needless suffering. Thank you for finding this site and being interested!

Holistic Approach to Health

At Reimagined Riverview, we believe that health is more than just the absence of disease. That's why we take a holistic approach to health, addressing both physical and mental well-being.

Healthy Meals

Eating healthy has never been so important. At riverview they  provided delicious and nutritious meals daily in the dining hall. Mostly back then it was men looking after the patients where this dynamic has since changed. The showers and toilets were quite barbaric mind you and the rooms small. However being fed the daily meals was so important to overall health especially mind health. Patients could be involved in physical activities too.

Transform “ our” Health with reimagined riverview

Everyone is NIMBY

Everyone is “ NIMBY”- Not In My Backyard!

the govt wants to put patients back into communities around bc but the community is pushing back. A  prime example presently is Kitsilano led by the kits coalition and Richmond ( at Cambie and sexsmith) where they want nothing to do with the sick and vulnerable!…..how disgraceful. Ravi kahlon of the NDP is backing them. You see this is just reality,  people just think they are better or don’t want the price of their home to go down- it’s selfish and narcissistic . Where are these people suppose to live and get healthy?… people in these neighbourhoods who live there already especially kits call the housing “ drug dens”

These simply are not “ drug dens”!

with this lack of compassion and limited thinking these homes for the vulerable  cannot be built bc the govt caves or else the community Take the govt to court as in kits case!….. these are not drug dens but rather much needed homes, an address, a second chance.

we cannot possibly put the satellite care centres around bc which are necessary too bc of expensive Real estate now , maybe 20 years ago when first thought of but now too late. This is why we need reimagined riverview, being prime real estate & belongs to the mentally ill community and a place to call home ideally only temporarily til one gets clean and healthy enough to live in the community. Then there won’t be as much pushback then. The time is now not letting another 10 Years pass!

Healthy Eating Workshops at riverview

Eating healthy doesn't have to be boring or bland. Our healthy eating workshops will teach clientele how to make nutritious and delicious meals that they and their family will love,  Learning how to cook healthy and eat well for life. This will be an integral part of programs because we are what we put into our bodies!…. It all starts with healthy eating habits and caring about oneself So that when they get out on their own they can maintain their health and this leads to contributing in their communities .  This is only one key part.

Indigenous developments and the fear for riverview

Burrard street bridge and Vanier Park development

Sen̓áḵw is a development project on 10.5-acres of Squamish Nation land located on Kits Point adjacent to Vanier Park.

12 acres reservation land , 11  towers - 59 storey towers  6-9000 people,  only 600 parking spots, no infrastructure, teaming with west bank and the provincial govt… it’s costing 3 billion to build and will generate over 20 billion split 50-50 with west bank , 70% rental market housing , other 30% below market given to their own , and no consultation with city of Vancouver since reservation land

its ugly and an eye sore and our city can’t support it

As Senakw is on reserve, the First Nation were not required to send their proposal to the City of Vancouver for review and approval, but they still need to work with the municipal government on establishing basic utilities and road connections, and the aforementioned transportation improvements. Khelsilem says they are in conversations with the city on developing the service agreement for the site and “the broader impacts and opportunities” of the development.

Another picture of it

This  is an aerial view of the Senakw site where

false creek south is 80 acres from burrard to Cambie bridges and houses approximately 3000 people and these leases are up in 2050-2060 I believe where they will build towers there too. MST teams up with concord pacific to develop St. Paul’s as well on that 6.6 acre site. I think concord does this to get around red tape.

so Granville island false creek , MST is coming for you too. MST stands for musqeum, Squamish, Tsliel- watuth nations

in comparison Concord Pacific Place along North False Creek has as many as 20,000 people in 10,000 homes within about 50 buildings on over 200 acres, which is almost 20 times larger than Senakw but only twice the population.

Molson brewery lands too ( concord developmt )

Molson brewery lands too ( concord developmt )

Molson brewery lands too ( concord developmt )

This is the vision for the old molson brewery  ( on burrard before bridge) too by concord. How much can burrard street take?

Another rendering of molson brewery

Molson brewery lands too ( concord developmt )

Molson brewery lands too ( concord developmt )

It is obvious from these pictures that concord and MST will change Vancouver and false creek forever and not for the better!….. we must take a stand now before too late if not already and this rendering above of molson Brewery site is WITHOUT the 11 towers of senakw!
WHAT WILL KWIKWETLEM  DO TO 250 acres of RIVERVIEW LANDS???….. their vision not OURS!!
